General Communication\Information

Our desire at the VILLA DESIDERATA is to provide low-cost retreats in a safe, caring environment which are lovingly prepared and presented and that, in all ways, are a living witness to the love of God.

Past and present people who have and continue to make a difference at the Villa!

Brother Pat Drohan, CSV
Brother Pat was born in Bloomingt0n, Illinois to Irish-descent parents.  He and his younger sister, Kathleen, were raised in the town of Pekin, while all his cousins (his mom and dad had 5 brothers & sisters) were raised on farms.  He attended high school in Peoria and upon graduation in 1961 entered the Clerics of Viator.  He was a novice for 2 years in Arlington Heights and his first assignment was to the Viatorian Villa in September, 1963 to help with the high school retreats.  His training, through the Viatorians, included plumbing, carpentry, electrical and electronics.  This training was through trade schools, taken mostly in the 'off times' when he was not busy at the Villa. Brother Pat, CSV, is best known as the silent backbone of the Villa.  He is infamous for his basement flea market shop and his love of children.

The VILLA DESIDERATA, with a special affection for 12-step programs, has been offering weekends of a spiritual nature for over 35 years. We currently provide retreats for members of AA, ALANON, OA, NA  and ACOA.
